Laura M. Burgos Orta, M.D. FAAP

Dr. Burgos is a Board Certified Pediatrician. She has been practicing pediatrics in the Mesquite, Garland, and Sunnyvale areas in Texas for the last 16 years. Dr. Burgos was first affiliated with the Children’s Medical Center at Dallas, TX, but is now affiliated with The Houston Methodist Sugarland Hospital and Memorial Hermann Hospital

Dr Burgos was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. She speaks both the English and Spanish languages fluently. She started her academic career at the University of Puerto Rico, where she obtained a degree in biology in 1995.

Afterward, she enrolled in the Ponce School of Medicine, Puerto Rico, where she obtained her Medical degree in 1999.  Dr. Burgos continued her training in the Pediatric residency program at Driscoll Children’s hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from the program as a pediatrician in 2002.

She has practiced in Brownsville, Garland, Mesquite, and Sunnyvale, Texas. She has recently moved to Sugar Land, Texas with the hopes of serving the local community and positively impacting it.

Dr. Burgos loves to dedicate her time to her patients and their families. She believes that a physically and mentally healthy child is not only the foundation of a healthy society but also the best gift we can give the future generation.
